Welcome to Dress Up 2 Cure-Team Quinn!
Our star: Quinn, 3 ½, with her brothers, Ryker 3 ½, and
Spencer 2.
Our little princess, Quinn, was diagnosed with RS in May
2006. She has a dynamic personality and an amazing drive
to learn new things each and every day. Her smile lights up
everyone’s eyes and her giggle fills the room with
laughter. We marvel in her quiet charm and delight in each of
her accomplishments.
Quinn struggles continuously to find alternate ways around
the challenging and debilitating symptoms of RS. She has
diminished motor skills, limited use of her hands, and as with
many of our girls, significant developmental delays. Quinn
does walk independently and enjoys holding
hands.
Despite the fact that RS has taken away her ability to
communicate verbally, Quinn is very social. Her signature
greeting includes batting her beautiful blue eyes and big
smile while coming in for a closed arm hug and an open
mouth kiss. We are in the early stages of picture
exchange and will be working toward augmentative
communication.
Quinn attends an Early Childhood classroom. She loves
school. Any mention of the bus brings excitement and delight
to her face. She is a very busy girl both at school and at
home. Her favorite activities include swimming, playing
outside, watching Thomas the Train, and going “bye-bye”.
Quinn adores her 2 brothers, they keep her in touch with
what is really important in life (at the moment: Rough-housing
and the yellow crushing ball) are top on “the boys” list. She
plays along quite well, so as to not hurt their feelings.
Our hope is that someday every family will live in a world
without Rett Syndrome. Let’s all work together to help make
that happen!
